UCWMU History

The Utah Cooperative Wildlife Management Association was incorporated under the laws of the state of Utah in 1996 as a non-profit business organization. In 2013, the organization changed its name to the 'CWMU Association' and its tax status to a 501(c) organization to more clearly focus its purpose and efforts. Association members recognize that proper management of wildlife and its habitat is beneficial to the citizens of Utah. Association members believe that healthy, diverse populations of animals and plants for appreciative and hunting purposes can be provided through the use of traditional and modern agricultural practices and standard wildlife management techniques.

The Association exists to conserve wildlife and its habitat, educate its members as to their role in wildlife and habitat management, and to facilitate sustainable management of all wildlife populations and the privately-owned lands they inhabit, and to foster cooperation between private and public wildlife and land manager agencies to the benefit of both wildlife and Utah citizens.
